Derek and Kate were first introduced by a mutual friend just over a year ago. Blind dates can be brutal. Theirs was blissful!
They attended a show at the famously hilarious Second City. While the laughter helped ease them comfortably into the date, the true connection they shared quickly became obvious.
Making their way to the Old Town Pour House to enjoy the rest of their evening, the smiles and laughter only multiplied. Within just a few days, they each secretly believed they had met their soul mate.
Derek knew he wanted their marriage proposal to be special so he picked a romantic little spot at South Pound, in Lincoln Park. He also contacted Paparazzi Proposals for some surprise engagement photography. So the moment he dropped to one knee was secretly captured by a discreet photographer armed with a telephoto lens hundreds of yards away!
